Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, back when it was still called Leningrad, Julia emigrated to the U.S. in 1978 along with her parents and twin sister, Victoria.

Julia Gomelsky is a visual artist based in Los Angeles, California. She primarily works with creative and luxury clients as a designer, art director and photographer.

Julia has a knack for anticipating challenges and coming up with intuitive solutions focused on meeting her clients’ needs and goals — sometimes even before they can articulate them. As a fast thinking, active listener, she takes on each client’s unique challenges and desires, presenting a customized, multi-option approach. Her minimalist style plays with high contrast images designed to evoke mood and tone.

As a photographer, Julia shoots lifestyle, headshot and portrait photography, as well as product imagery. Julia’s illustrations — through her Drawn for You platform — have been featured on the Howard Stern Show social media channels and are very popular with fans and the Wack Pack. Hybrid Animals, Hybrid Animals Too and Happy Good Night are three children’s books that Julia wrote and illustrated and are available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Lulu.com.

Julia’s personal body of artwork includes self portraiture, landscape, travel photography, and mixed media pieces that experiment with custom mâché on canvas. Her Paige and Ginger series is a vibrant photographic journey seen through the lens of two cheeky dolls travelling the world. Paige and Ginger were showcased as the backdrop for K. Brunini Jewels in Las Vegas at the Couture show. Her The bird and the butterfly business is a customized collection of one-of-a-kind wall hangings inspired by travels and hiking discoveries in Ojai, CA and Tucson, AZ. They are sold in West Elm pop-ups and galleries across the United States.
